Need advise on selling my 1999 Land Rover Discovery 2
I've been thinking about selling my 1999 Disco 2 Series.
I've thought about keeping it but it is just not in my finances to do so. It has 180XXX miles and has a blown headgasket. I would like to at least get $1500 for it with a blown motor.
I was wondering if anyone knew what the pricing was like on these with a blown motor. Is 1500 to much or to little. If anyone knows how much these things go for with blown motors I would appreciate the input.
It is Epson Green and in pretty good condition
Front Bumper is broken and gone.
Let me know what you think I should do
Thanks,
David

Is the engine blown up or is just the head gaskets leaking?
If its just the gaskets leaking you can fix it yourself for $500, $1500 or so to have a idie shop do it.
If the engine is not running, like a throw rod, no oil pressure, etc. then $1500 is a fair price.
Ask $2000 and take $1500.

Ditto, if you're gonna sell, ask high, then use the magic three letters "OBO" next to your asking price so folks know you want to deal.
Like Spike you might want to consider fixing it if it's salvageable, otherwise you're just losing money selling it to someone else for next to nothing. I sold my '96 DI with 125K with a cracked IM for $1800 a couple years ago and it was one of the (if not the) dumbest things I ever did.

x2 what Nitetrain said.
You could definitely make more parting it out. But it would take a lot more time and energy.
I would buy your passenger side fog light and 6 disc changer magazine right now.
hehehe

Good to know but now that I think of it I may just fix i, I didn't throw a rod or loose pressure, I just have coolant and oil mixing. I think I may have overheated it bad but not sure thats the only thing that is keeping me from fixing it. My ABS is all jacked up and I will get a warning chime from time to time. After awhile I just started ignoring it whenever it came on. I heard a warning chime about 10 minutes before I looked down and realized it was overheating. I don't know if I had overheated it for a while like that or if the chime even goes off when it overheats, I assume so I don't know selling it is an option but keeping is another
Thanks, though
