Yeah, cut the tubes, remove the large nut, put a nickel inside the nut and reinstall it on head fitting. Yeah, it will be another twenty cents wasted on the thing...but in the grand scheme of things...it will probably be the cheapest fix ever.

Remove the spark plug wires, put an open end wrench on the SAI plug, then you can unscrew the SAI tube nut with a big wrench, I think 1"

@RoverPA Yup it will. It is a bit of pain to work around but you can remove the studs on that hold the SAI to the upper intake and replace with bolts that helps a bunch. I have been trying to figure a way to relocate the aluminum tubes at the back of the engine compartment, no good plan so far.

A friend of mine took the SAI ports off his P38 with the 4.6 engine.

He says they are M16 - 1.25 threads

Yeah, if you don't want to ruin the tubes, to remove large nut, then welding is a good option. Only thing that becomes regrettable, is you lose the allen head fitting in the center...makes spinning them out easier than using a 18mm wrench on that square section. Was fortunate, had a coulpe old sets of SAI tubes that were cracked...so cutting them to remove large nuts was an option. But, if you don't have an extra set...welding works.

I welded the end of my SAI plugs. Here's a video of me welding the ends. I'm no pro welder but it didn't leak exhaust.

Several years ago I purchased the custom made "SAI delete plugs" from user "greisinb" He is the guy who makes the SAI delete plugs. DM him if you need a set. The price is very reasonable.
