Yup, mine has AEL.
All Disco's after 1997.5 have it.

According to the Rave, for NAS, the pre-AEL production run ended 10/96

I've run autolites .034 gap & autozone silicones($50?) in my DI for 5yrs. now- still good.

I ran the same wires & bosch platinums in my '96 RR (same engine for several years, ran great.

luck,greg

I gotta think Herb's problem was more plug related than Magnecor related. I found Magnecors for under $80 but can't find the link right now (dammit!).

I think I will go with the Magnecor - I used them on some of my Audi's and had good results.

I have a 97 DI that was manufactured in mid 1996 according to the inspection stickers I am finding on various compoments. It is pre AEL. Mine is running great now with just over 110k miles on it.

My wires look like they may possibly be the originals? They are black and each one has the cylinder number (1-8) printed on the side of the wire, which I thought was cool.

I hate to think that a good set of wires is over $100. Ouch. What about the ACCEL yellow wires you see on hot rods? Are manecors that good?
