NEED HELP- front cover removal
I'm doing the front cover gasket replacement. Have all bolts I can see out. Oil pan is dropped, 2 connectors clear. All that and I've got no movement. What am I missing?
May have some sort of sealant cementing it in place if not first removal. May require some whacking to get it loose. Attachment shows bolt locations.
......
Remove 9 bolts securing timing gear cover and
remove cover.
remove cover.
Thanks for the replies. On the 5th or 6th time holding the gasket up I found the bolt I had been missing. Did replace the oil pump gears and have the timing chain and gears to do. Also did the valve cover gaskets while in there and do an inline thermo conversion. Turns out that was all too much for one day interrupted by a thunderstorm. Sometimes I get a bit too optimistic. Thanks again guys, preciate it.

The one that sits just below the little tab that the connector sits on? Can't tell you how many times I looked the whole thing over! Then it was that a-ha moment, followed by the grumble about wasting hours...
" What's this about oil pickup tube o-ring? I don't recall seeing one when pulling the pan? Which part of the tube does it go on? "

Again, huge thanks guys. Did not notice the pick up oring during teardown. Had a look and verified there's one on there, nice and snug. A shout out to Justin at L8 for his help with that. Got the timing chain and gears, along with the front cover on last night. Tonight it's the water pump, oil pan and inline mod. This whole work thing during the day just kills my free time...
