Default need help with my discovery 2

My truck decided one day it just didn't want to start. I hooked it up to a OBD reader and it said it was the (drawing a blank) sensor. So I took it to Pikes Peak Rover and all they could find wrong was a new battery and that the ground wire was not hooked up. So after replacing the wire and the battery it started. So I parked it went for lunch came back and it decided not to start again. When it was running it would go but it didn't have the power. A friend said that the light on the dash meant transmission. Does anyone know what I can do?

It is the green sprocket shaped lights with an M and one with a S inside. They came on the same time.

Yup, trans fault. Your trk went into "limp" mode. You will have to get the fault codes read.

If they have been on but gone off again, just ignore them. You only need the faults read "if" they wont go off

That series of lights will come on quite often do to low voltage, dirty or loose battery cables.
Go get your battery and alternator load tested.

Well it starts off and on the lights aren't coming on all the time. If its unstarted, will it read it correctly?

Clean your battery teminals and then have your battery and alternator tested. AutoZone will do it for free. Make sure that you have your radio security code before you unhook the battery.
