Default Need Help - Nanocom Key Fob Programming - Key Not Detected

Hey All

I finally got a set of 315mhz key fobs and rented the Nanocom from @Brandon318 . I am following this video tutorial.

Everything seems to be going fine until I do the last step (key detect). The new key is not detected. A couple of other details:
  1. I have verified the nanocom receives a transmit from the new key
  2. My old key fob is detected just fine.
  3. It doesn't seem to matter which key programming slot I use - none are detected in the final step.
Anyone have any words of advice on what I can do here?

Just for kicks have you totally disconnected the Nanocom and tried the key? Fobs will not lock/unlock the car while you have the Nanocom connected (or at least my version of firmware will not allow this).

This.

Also, sometimes it took cycling through the key programming procedure one or two times. Some keys synced up right away, others took 2-3 times. No idea why the difference. Could be battery levels.

Thanks guys. I tried the keys just to see if they were working but no joy. I will try programming a couple more times and see if it works. Will let you know.

Well I tried replacing the batteries but still ending up with the same issue. Key sync is successful but key detection is not. I stumped.

I'm thinking I got ripped off and they sent me another 433mhz. The motherboard looks the same as the last ones I got.

That could very well be, lots of people are running into that issue. I tried to program some with my Nanocom when I was up at Austin Roverworks as their T4 wouldn't do anything. Well they were a pair of those Mini Cooper remotes, and in the end they were the wrong MHz. Then a customer had an OEM key and the T4 didn't make it work. I grabbed the Nanocom and had it programmed in just a few seconds. I've programmed a few of the aftermarket units below with no issues.

315MHz Key Fob

Do you have a HAM radio or a friend with a HAM radio? Easy to find out if the fobs are 315 or 433 MHz.

That’s a good idea. Wish i did have something like that behind. In any case I am done trying to program key fobs for now. Going to replace my front calipers, bleed the brakes and send the Nanocom back. Thanks all!

Best; you have used this specific supplier? And this specific chip? Did it come with the 6 digit code or just the long code? Or both?
