well it seems the person selling it is full of bs or totally clueless, first rovers don't have that engine size, and they have a timing chain not a belt. so if they are full of bs their lieing and the "maitainence" hasen't been done, or they are clueless and wouldn't know where to start on mainainence or they will have records of the maitainence. plus you won't drive a lr that old for a year without having to do some mainainence, nor should you.

Just lease a new Bimmer, even the maintenance is included for the first 4yrs/50k- all you have to do is buy the gas! Of course, leasing a new Bimmer may not be feasible, as maintenance and repairs on even an old D1 w/ high miles would still be less than the car payments and insurance on any new car... If you want a car/truck that you don't have to do anything to then you better stick to borrowing one from your parents or hitch a ride with a buddy.
