Default Need Help with Unfamiliar Ringing Sound - Front of Engine

I started getting a ringing sound which seems to be coming from the front of the engine.

- The ringing sound ONLY comes on during IDLING. However, it goes away when power is applied to the engine.
- Checked the fan - no wobbliness, no grinding feel

This is on a new Turner engine installed last year with new water pump (no leaks in weephole), new belt, etc.

I am not familiar with this sound. Has anyone experienced this sound in the past and be able to offer some clues on where to start?

Ringing sound:

Checking the fan:

Thanks in advance!

Yep sounds like an idler pulley, A/C clutch dragging, or an alternator

Richard,

Unfortunately, it is a wet day today. I will look into this when weather dries up in the next few days. Will keep you posted. Thx!

I have a Turner in my 03 D2. Two years later the AC condenser pully/clutch/whatever started to fail. I would get various noises under different conditions. New unit and new belt no more noises.

Good maintenance items to do anyways. Done mine last year and one of the idlers was really hard to turn. I’m thinking I got a extra 1 mpg just on that one lol
