Default Need a little mechanical help

I'm new here, so bare with me...

What I have:
2001 LR Discovery II, 92742 miles

I just bought this and have several issues...3 amigos, cruise control not functioning, and the issue that I present here.

Standing in front of te vehicle looking at the engine compartment. On the left side of the engine block, coming in low is a melted (what looks like a) vacuum line. I have attached pics, can anyone identify this part for me?

It looks like it runs to the top of the transfer case. Please let me know if I need to take a video or better pictures to help with identifying.

That's a breather/vent from your transfer case

If you do any wading, it'll keep water out of you transfer box

I'd cut it back, put a piece of fuel line where melted.

Default Thanks

I appreciate the input...I'll do that.

Any advice or common problems with the cruise?

Vacuum hoses, release switch @ brake pedal (vacuum runs to that, also, at least on my DI.)

If you find a cracked hose, just buy 1/4" hose @ hardware or parts store.

Broken vacuum line repair took care of my CC issues when I bought my D2
