Default Need quick help ........ How to clamp brake hose

Hey all,
I am replacing my sticking caliper today and I see in the rave manual that you should clamp the brake hose in order to prevent fluid loss. My question is how and where do you do so. I can see the rubber hose surrounded by that spiral cable but it is as hard as a rock. Should I use vise grips or something to flatten it shut. I would rather not break something in the process. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

just swap out the caliper quickly and you won't lose much fluid. You can buy little caps that go on the end of the brake line, but I've never used them.

Dont worry about it, just use a catch pan and do NOT let the brake fluid touch the paint as it will peel off in front of your eyes.
BUT if you really want to then use a pair of needle nose Vise-Grips with pipe on each ear, the smooth pipe will clamp the hose without huring it like the teeth of the Vise-Grips will.
