need some engine help guys (rod and main bearings)
Thats why im not rebuilding the 4.6 out of the 03. I bought a 4.0 out of a 99. Are you thinking im going to have problems with he 4.0 as well? What road would you suggest i go down? Living with the tick/knock is not an option for the wife so i have to figure it out.
Tell your wife to turn the radio up. Seriously most Land Rovers have the tick. Is it normal and OK, no but most people have driven with the tick for over 50k miles and have not had any problems. You are going to spend a ton of money and in the end you might have the tick come back before you know it. Mine doesn't have the tick but if it developed it I probably wouldn't replace or rebuilt the engine unless it was something serious. It just isn't cost effective, our trucks aren't worth much any more.
If you've got only 4 PSI, then your knock might not be the same ticking that everyone else has learned to hate.
I know wher you can get a 4.6 completly rebuilt ready to drop in for $2,500.00.. if you dont want to mess with it.. I will post a thread later with the details... It's a friend of mine that owns a pretty large indy rover shop...
