Just got done replacing the radiator because of that stupid screw hole design.

I personally cut the OEM bolts shorter on any D2 I touch.

what a ridiculous design. had that happen to me while working on either the airbox or the waterpump. can't remember which. the plastic on the elbow had completely disintegrated.

I see that on any plastic tank/aluminum radiator. Heat rises & the darn vent nipples get brittle.

I break them off, drill them out, put brass fittings in. Also put shorter screws in.

just had mine out. One was seized and then stripped so I replaced it with some other random (blunt) hardware.
I sure hope I haven’t buggered it.
Kind of wish I’d seen this post before. Would have been much more cautious.
