new battery...one click, won't crank
i'm sorry for bringing up a subject that's been well documented and addressed. i'm curious if my situation is different than the others i've read about:
the battery died completely about a month ago...I recharged it and all seemed fine. then, when trying to start, it wouldn't turn over...only a click. i charged it briefly and it was fixed for a while-no problem starting. then it wouldnt turn over again. i thought it was the battery so i went bought a new one. it was fixed...for a while. now, if the car sits for a few days...the same problem. one click, but no crank. then i charge it quickly and it cranks and starts...and now it wont crank again.
could the original battery dying have effected the immobilization system? is there a way to completely disarm that system to check? i dont have a meter, is there a way to test the battery by using functions of the car?
would really appreciate some help...last thing i want is for my wife and kids to be stranded...and they all love the truck, so i want them to drive it.
thanks.
