New from Chicago with an engine noise
Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me to diagnose an engine noise in my rover. I bought this rover a few weeks ago and have had this issue ever since I bought it. The engine likes to make a “knocking” noise when the engine has been running for over 30 minutes. I’ll attach a video for context. I drained the oil (there was only 2 quarts and has some sparkles in it...) and put in 6 quarts of Rotella 15w40. The noise has been reduced but it is still there. Thanks

Could be an exhaust leak hard to tell on the video. Could also be a lifter, liner, rocker etc. Do a little listening with a mechanic stethoscope to locate the area the noise is coming from
lifters/push rod tap. But you also have to get under the car and listen to bottom end as well. Might want to check your real time oil pressure.....given that you only drained out 2 quarts, you may have some major bearing damage......
