And I am all over that as soon as this beast starts. Until then.

"The gear position switch outputs are monitored by the BCU and the EAT ECU. The BCU outputs gear position signals to illuminate the position indicators each side of the gear selector lever and on the odometer LCD in the instrument pack."

Hallelujah!

What fuses did you try it on? I'm telling you to pull the computers to make sure that they are clean and the connections are all clean. I'm telling you to check the grounds because without the proper ground the xyz (wxyz outside the US) can't communicate with the BCU. What I think is going on is there is either a computer that is malfunctioning and/or a short in between two pieces in the circuit. If I was in your position I would pull every computer and every fuse and make sure everything is clean and the connections are not corroded. That's the easiest thing to do. If it's still not working I would source a new set of computers from one of the parts guys like Paul Grant and just swap them all out.

Stuff looks too good to just replace. I want to know the circuit.

Also the one on the right is the replacement EAT ECU. I didnt feel the need to open it up. It wasn't in the drink. A small discrepancy in the bottom numbers though.

all of the ECU's look good! great sign. you did open up and clean the old tranny ECU right? Or are you saying you didnt open the replacement? Dumb question you checked the connections under the shifter to make sure they were clean and clipped in correctly? Then the next step is to hunt down the ground in the circuit and check the ground from the battery, after that I would check the wiring to make sure there is nothing that is shorting out. DO you have any pics from when you opened up the XYZ?

Connections under shifter checked and rechecked. Ground from the battery was tight. I will find the circuit. I cant wait to actually start turning a wrench. I have the whole entire line up to go.

your old TCU is not nearly clean enough to work properly. you pulled those black clips off the xyz and cleaned the switches out correct? everything else is good enough for my taste. the scary thing here is your are not getting any gear reading with the old or new TCU. are you in limp mode? the tranny should go into limp with the M and S lights blinking even if the TCU poops the bucket. you are getting codes on the CAN so we know the ECU is working. When you push the shift cable all the way in it should slide into park, and when you pull it can you feel it going through the gears?

Do you have a new TCU installed?

And, you need to have the whole transmission flushed if you were under water.
Sorry.
You are taking on a lot.

Hilltopper I agree. With a bad TCU he can't get his solenoids to pull in and he will not shift.

Seems that may wreck something - or if none of them are pulled in - are we in a sort of neutral?

No planetary gears are locked, so he may just be spinning in there?
Guessing.
