Thank you all so much for all the input. Its helped me a great deal. My D2 was dropped off for repairs yesterday with a list of things to be looked over/repaired. @locknload7 that would be awesome, we're in a good place surrounded by these veteran owners haha. I'll keep you guys posted on what goes on.

I'm in the same place as you are. I bought a white 140k mile 1999 for $2500 a week ago. It looks almost too good to be true (body, interior, etc.) - but came with zero maintenance history which means I need to assume nothing has ever been done and start from scratch.

I'll be going through every inch of mine (Mike's list + a lot more) and then doing a few upgrades and modifications so I'll try to document as much as possible. The thought of spending $6-7k on initial "maintenance & upgrades" on a $2,500 car doesn't seem like something I want to document however
