Default New Disco II owner....of course...I need help

Traded for a 2000 Discovery II SD with 81,000 miles on it. It is in fair shape but with a few issues. Had to do a brake job. $750. Need fuel pump replaced. Leaking fuel, bad fuel smell. Needs tune up. Both dim headlights don't work, only on hi beam. Radio only turns on when the headlights are on. Seems it was a short or wired wrong. Looking for a bull / push bar and safari rack. This website has been a big help just by lurking. I also have a 1964 Series IIA 88. I have always had the lure to Land Rover vehicles. Even with the bad press and haters out there. I have owned jeep wranglers and currently have a 2014 FJ cruiser, I still love rovers.

As I dig deeper into the Disco, I will humbly ask for the Rover experts here to lend me their ear(s).

Oaty...

Well since you must have bought the gold plated brake job, I would recommend that you use the Airtex E8335 fuel pump instead of the stock land rover unit. Saves a couple hundred bucks. Easy to do yourself.

Welcome to the Discovery of Discovery's.

Good luck, with your new rig. Post up some pictures of both rovers.

Slowly trying to upgrade my Disco 2 and my Land Rover IIA. Not enough money to do what I want.
