Default New to Discovery

Hi all. New to this site and new to the Discovery but not new to Land Rover. Proud owner of two Classic Range Rovers but thinking about "expanding the harem" to include a Discovery but really know very little about the model. So...here comes a provocative question: What year/trim level is best? My use is strictly urban lizard, hauling kids, etc. Do think the SE7 set up is good. Looking for a balance between mechanical/electronic simplicity (I try and do as much of my own work as possible) but with amenities such as cruise control, etc.

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Bob

I love my SE7. The kids love the jump seats. Mine has the DVD in the ceiling, a must if you have kids.

It's a great balance of 4X4, luxury, family-friendly, and cool factor.
