The new drive shaft is in, but the vibration lingers.

Vibrations are tough as just about any spinning item can cause it.
I'll have to borrow everything to check the compression. Wanted to do that anyway at some point. I think it is something engine though. Not sure about low compression somewhere though... wouldn't that throw a CEL if it was running rough enough to cause a vibration?

I have the same vibration issues with my '00 DII. I've replaced the rotoflex & front drive shaft. Vibration start at 70 mph. what are the possibilities it's the transmission or transfer case?

is it the same vibration while in neutral as in sitting in idle parked?

if not and its only at speed...how long ago did you have your wheels balanced if not any other above mentioned potential cause? check for dirt etc. built up on the inside etc.

low comression wont through a code unless its enough to cause a missfire usually... but it will definatly cause a vibration in the motor reguardless if you are sitting still or moving in gear... but it would show up most likely at a certain rpm in every gear, not just during a certain speed.

if its in a particular speed range its driveline or tires, or alittle both.

It seems to be a little roughness in neutral revving the engine. The vibration is in every gear more over the 3500RPM range. There is a vibration lately over 75ish, but I do think that is more tire/shock related.

I just got rid of my RotoFlex. Converted to a grease-able GBR(Great Basin Rovers) rear driveshaft. Its a little costly b/c you have to convert the rear pinion flange to 4 bolt. But it got rid of my 35mph and 55mph slight vibrations. Everything rolls smooth now.

I'm not saying this is your problem, but it fixed my ever so slight vibration. Also I have a 2" OME lift and have heard DO NOT have a Rotoflex with any body lift.

GBR serviceable rear drive shaft on eBay $160 shipped
GBR 4 bolt pinion flange with oil seal $100 from Great Basin.(new).
Not a bad deal for now a fully grease-able front & rear drive train.
