New ECU/BCU/Cluster, but my car doesn't have DMTL/leak detection? Can I clone my ECU?
Picked up my first Land Rover about 2 weeks ago and chased down an unresponsive upstream o2 through the harness all the way to the ECU.
ECU was bad, found a parts car locally for extremely cheap and moved the engine harness, ECU, BCU, and cluster over. Car started right up but keeps throwing P1451 (EVAP circuit) , P0447 (EVAP circuit open), P1117 (coolant temp sensor that my MY2000 doesn't have).
I spent all day trying to trace the problem and I finally found out that my MY2000 does not have the DMTL leak detection so the donor car's ECU is having a fit because it's looking for something that isn't there.
I have access to a T4 Testbook I believe, can I duplicate my old ECU with it? Or sync my new ECU to my old BCU and cluster and it will adapt? Not sure how it works as I come from the BMW side of things where I can fullread most early OBD2 ECUs through free software.
Thanks a bunch!
