Default New engine cranks but won't start

I have a 2004 Discovery. I just put a rebuilt engine in from Land Rover after my oil pump locked up on mine and came flying out the front cover on the highway.

I have the engine installed, but it will not start. It cranks, but will not start. I have no fuel pressure and no spark. I checked all my ecm powers and grounds. All are good. I checked my cam and crank signal with a scope. Those are both good. The engine is not immobilised. I can jump the fuel pump relay and the pumps work and I get fuel pressure, but still no spark.

I did notice that when I switch the key on I do not get a ground output from the ECM to the fuel pump relay to prime the ECM. This made me think the ECM was bad, so I swapped it out from a running truck and still no luck.

I also went over all the fuses in all the fuse boxes and none of them are blown.

The weird thing is this truck ran perfect before the engine blew which makes me think something with this new engine is not right.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hope you have the RAVE.

In the circuits layout, you will find that the main relay (#9 in the underhood fuse block) has to be on first, the ECM turns it on to power up several things, like cats, maf, etc. The main relay contacts also turn on plus volts to the fuel pump relay coil, and the ECM decides when to ground that coil to make fuel run. It will turn it off in about 3 seconds if truck does not start to protect pump.

The main relay coil get plus volts from the Inertia switch, might try a reset of that.

Is alarm light on dash on or blinking?

I'm curious:
Was the engine damaged by the lack of oil pressure or from the pump disintegrating ?

Franky.

Have you reset the inerita switch? How about the crank sensor, sounds like the typical sensor failure, shutting off the signal for the coils and pump.

In a D2, the inertia switch disables the main relay, which powers down a number of sensors, the fuel pump relay, and signals the BCU to unlock the doors if the truck is running and alarm is not triggered. In a crash, this is a safety issue to let people drag you out, and fuel spray to be minimized.

this sounds so much like my fiasco. I am staying tuned PLEASE post up any progress you make. I am curious, do you have a remote keyless entry fob for your truck? Locking and unlocking make any difference?

The engine had bearing damage from the loss of oil pressure and block damage from the oil pump breaking apart.

The inertia switch is not tripped. All of the ignition switched relays are turning on and I have ignition power everywhere I am supposed to at the ECM.

I checked the crank signal with a scope. I have a crank signal at the ECM.

I do have a remote and it locks and unlocks the car properly. It makes no difference. Still cranks with no start.

Do you have volts at the fuel pump? Spark at a plug removed?

Curious to see what this ends up being. For the record mine was fixed when I installed the CkPS installed correctly. I had the spacers between the sensor and the block instead of between teh sensor and the nuts. I installed the original one and a brand new one this way which really tripped up my troubleshooting. I had no fuel and no spark. SES light on all the time. Pump would not come on with the key but would when jumping across relay. I know he scoped it and says he is getting signal from his CkPS. But makes me woner
