Default New Frame...?

So I took my '04 Disco in for inspection yesterday & my mechanic told me I had frame rot & it probably wouldn't pass inspection next year :-(
Hooray for East Coast winters!

Aside from the occasional small break-y things (Power windows, door lock & Fuel Door lock, headliner sagging) I love this thing. It *touch wood* runs great @ 107K and I'd love to keep it on the road.

Just curious if anyone has experience with this?
Any ideas on cost?
I can't DIY.

I'd rather spend a few thousand keeping it on the road, rather than upgrading to a newer used Range Rover and being knee deep in Car payments again.

Thoughts?
Thanks!!!

well you cant put a new frame under it for a few thousand dollars if you can not to it yourself. But a few hundred dollar at a good welding shop could buy you some more time with it.
All depends where the rot is and how extensive, if he's telling you it may not pass next year. you may be at a point where you could delay it quite a bit.

Literally just went through this with a friend... was showing him the galvanized D2 chassis' at Rovers North 2 days ago, yesterday he snapped his frame at the rear radius arm mount.

He ended up buying another DII to swap parts to.
