Default New (and hopefully final) engine build.

Finally got my block back from the machine shop - Q and E in Anaheim, CA. I had them re-sleeve the block, install new pistons, cam bearings, re-size the rods, and install the crank and rods/pistons. Came out really nice.

I had the heads gone over by a local shop - Clark’s Auto and Marine in Burlingame, CA. Larger intake valves.

I got a HD throttle body heater, a new SAI solenoid and Hyundai purge valve. A new brake booster line fitting and FV-308 PCV.

More to come…

Thanks!

Let’s hope she runs as good as she looks…

I love the look of clean engines. It's the exact opposite of my engine lol

I’m going to paint it too. VHT Cast Aluminium gloss engine paint. Should help keep it looking clean.

I like clear paint on D2 engine blocks and heads - natrual look but don't stain and clean up nicely from any spills.

TRAGEDY!!!

I'm installing my heads. Using ARP studs. Specified sequence at 20/50/70 ft/lbs. Two studs start to pull the threads before I hit 70. FACK!!! Stopped right there and took the heads off.

Going to talk with a local machine shop on Monday to see what my options are.

Seriously bummed...

This and the fact you cannot get precise HG crush is why I don't use studs.
