Got this a while ago and finally installing. KoolerFlow water pump.
You should notice a big difference from that. My temps used to go up at idle, now they stay consistent or even go down if they were above the thermostat temperature.

Good to hear. I have the in-line t-stat and the HD fan clutch and ‘02 fan. It ran pretty cool except at idle w AC on. Hoping this will keep things nice and cool all around.
That will be amazing when it is all assembled. I have always fantasized about a perfect engine and meticulous engine compartment.
One comment on the Kool Flow, in the Porsche world, water pumps never have a metal impeller. They are always plastic. The idea is that if they fail or a piece breaks off, plastic is less likely to damage something. I understand the other side is that AL is less likely to fail, but just sharing what other thoughts are.

Only if it runs as good as it looks!

How much can/should an engine be assembled before installation?
I've had the engine in and out of the truck several times but I've typically taken most everything off before pulling or installing - basically a short block. Don’t ask me why…
This time, I want to finish assembling the engine as much as possible before installing - but not to the point where I’d have to backtrack in the middle of installation and take something off that was put on prematurely.
Does it make sense to bolt on the exhaust manifolds, motor mounts, and starter before installing the engine?
Painted the assembly with with gloss clear engine enamel. Getting close…

I leave the exhaust manifolds off, don't have to try to line up with the exhaust pipes and gives more room to work on bellhousing bolts. Leave starter off too. Lower intake on.
