Default New Jaguar Thermostat

Well the weather got a lot warmer and so did my Disco so I decided today was the day to put in the new parts.
This is just copying what CaptainAaron did back in 2022 basically.
I used the S type Jaguar housing (off Amazon) and 1- inch and a quartersteel hose barb.
I DID NOT use any other hose parts other than clamps.
I did change the thermostat to a Stant 13378 180 degree
The things I didn't like about the original setup were:
1-the difficulty of changing the thermostat. This new one mounts up at the top and uses an O-ring to seal. Perfect!
2-the stupid upside down U hose that makes it hard to bleed the air out. I cut that at the top of the U and put the T that used to be at the top where the new thermostat now lives in there.
This also gives a lot more space for getting at the fan belt tensioner.
What I liked about the original setup was the large bypass setup for cold starts. The Inline thermostat mod deleted this and I wanted to keep this feature so I went with the Jaguar mod.
The first time I fired it up I noticed that the one side of the thermostat housing warmed up very quickly but the part going to the radiator stayed cool.
By feeling the housing as it warmed up I could tell immediately when the thermostat opened so this is a very easy, quick and CLEAN way to check your thermostat to know if its operating correctly!
I run a ScanGuage 3 and it showed 183 degrees max at idle which is just what I wanted to see.
The old thermostat was allowing the engine to climb to 210 - 215 if left at an idle It might have been even worse but I didn't want to find out!!!
Here's some pics of the install:
