New Key FOB for D2 - Options to buy
My apologizes if this has been covered before, I feel sure it has, but I cannot located it. As fate would have it, my driver's door lock actuator failed shortly after I bought my used D2 some 6 years ago now. I finally got around to replacing it a couple months ago, and shortly after lost my last key fob. Luckily when I lost my first key fob I had two spare regular keys made to fit.
I would like to take advantage of the door actuator now, so I guess I will be biting the bullet to buy a new key fob and have it cut and programmed. What am I looking to pay at the dealer and are there any other options?

The Nanocom is easier to program a key fob replacement. All you need is the key code (6 digits/letters). I did it with a fob replacement which I purchased from Paul Grant. Here is an example of the Nanocom re-programming procedure:
I read somewhere the Hawkeye programming process is a little more complicated and needs the entire bar code key string.

It is usually a small printed label which is pasted to the internal circuit board inside the key fob. You will have to make sure the label is still there when you buy a used fob from the seller. Here is a picture example:

Did a little quick searching, the first hurdle is matching the frequency and it seems there are two choices for the DII 315 mhz or 433 mhz. If you have a 433 then you are past the first step of the frequency match. Then it would be on to the programming.
Before you ask I have yet to find a way to tell short of opening a key and seeing if it is printed inside.
