Bball: yeah it had a horrible thunk as it rotated. Im guessing from knocking against the cats.

Dr: I actually just had my power steering pump replaced. And yes that did cause quite a leak. But that mess is in a completely different area.

Ssl: yeah im not losing to much sleep over it. But like I said. Im still cleaning up underneath to try to find the cause of it.

Try a bottle of Blue Devil oil treatment for the transfer case. I had a leak, probably from old seals or O rings, did a fluid change an added Blue Devil and so far no more leak! Still some motor oil coming from somewhere I can't quite see, but it's minor. Blue Devil works!

Get to know the lower links well. Make sure the drive shaft you got has greasable joints. If not, send it back. Get to know some of the people on here well. If you get stuck look up DiscoMike or several others on here. If you need used parts try Paul Grant, he's fast, great, and will treat you right on prices. His contact is in my signature.

Make sure you start on Mike's Major Service as it will save you headaches later. The write up's link has been good for me too.

Also, first thing people will ask you is if you have downloaded a copy of the RAVE gives detailed instructions for repairs. (See land rover resource link)
