ok so after a mini off road trip the other dayI have noticed a sound thats a little different than usual. Now, as we know the hydrolicsrelease airwhen you get out of the truck (at least thats what I think it is...) The sound is not very loud at all, usually, but now that same sound has gotten very loud. The first time it did it, it made me jump, its almost like a loud sneeze.

Here's what I think happened. Ihad the off road lift on while I was out on the trials, andat one point I had alot of pressure on the side thats making the sound. I think that it may have messed up that function because now when I try to engage the one side does not work. When the truck is at normalheight it is level though so I dont think its the air bags... Also, when I try to engage the lift, it just keep blinking like its trying to lift the truck, but it wont finish...

Any thoughts? Let me know if I need to clear anything up, I know my terminology is not very mechanical!

Wow, this got pushed back quick! Busy night! Im gonna go ahead and bump it.

 

Sounds like you have a leak in your SLS.
It cant raise the truck because all the air leaks out.
Pretty soon the back will be flat in the morning.

Are you guys sure its the SLS?? I thought they were just air bags not hydrolics. (Maybe it just sounds like hydrolics) I've been keeping an eye on it and its doesnt lower when parked for a while.You guys might be right though...They have already been patched so I know its just a matter of time.....

Tom, if it does end up being the SLS i refuse to go back to it and i will probally go ahead and do a lift.

 

Hydrolics do not make noise. Unless they are huge ones, like on a bulldozer or something.

 

ok? So how can I check if there is a leak in the SLS?
Do i do the old soap and water and look for bubbles?

 

Yup, soapy water in a spray bottle, like a empty Windex bottle, or you can buy one at the dollar store.
