Default New to LR, coming from Audi

Hey all, i'm tired of making payments on a new a4 so i'm selling it and adopting a relatives 2003 LR discovery se. It's got leather, heated seats etc, no navi and 125k miles. Brakes are shot. Can someone tell me what to expect with these cars? never driven one nor know anything about them... also do they make stock navi's for the 03? how much would this vehicle be worth (est) ? thanks in advance

some '03's have oil pump failures. Use the search function on here and read all you can. Buy a bad rover and you'll be begging to get that a4 payment back.

'03's are a crap shoot. Check to see if you are within the VIN range.

Wouldn't you think that an '03 with 125k is a good bet to be OK as far as the oil pump is concerned? Most fail around 60k, if ever, from what I have heard.

Didn't we have a guy posted the other day with 180K on the original head gaskets? Could be luck.

Thanks for the replies.

Not really mechanical. Got a new job in the city and don't need a car, let alone paying a fortune for a new one so I was going to take this one with no payments. I'd just be using it maybe every other weekend and sometimes to the beach when weather permits. He's having the brakes done and I'll of course have it inspected (haven't pulled the trigger just yet) any questions I should ask the mechanic? Also, do they make a navi for it? or do I need to get a whole new (ugly) head unit? Prefer oem.

I would really look into the 04's if you have the time/money! CDL and no risky business!

Look for an 04 HSE that has the factory NAV and the CDL .
Otherwise a Garmin portable NAV should work but you will have to hide it when parked
