New Member Intro/ladder question
Yea the ladder slips over the ridge on top of the hatch, and you just drill in 2 screws on top. You could add more if you want or use rivits... I used rivits coated in black rtv, so when they expanded they filled thier own gaps for water proofing. then the bottom end goes around the hatch handle... i forget but i think you just reuse the two bolts. it SEEMS flimsy, and I'm sure it is for side to side motion, you just have to be carefull to not stress the ladder, like i woudlnt stand on it to do anyting other then load stuff in a roof rack, or in the winter to get a leg up on clearing snow from the roof. and certainly NEVER use it if the hatch is open, but its not going anywhere with the hatch closed... its pretty solid.
i only really use it now as a mounting point for straps to tie down my kayak. its mainly a handle to grab to pull yourself up on the bumper
but i like the look of it, what other truck has a freakin ladder on it haha! good escape route too when the english electrics fail trying to do some water crossing
