Yep, I have familiarized myself with Disco Mikes 60k+ service so certainly a new T Stat will be replaced along with all the fluids etc.

i suppose I should contact these fellas and go from there

You'll need to get the grey OEM 180 thermostat from Lucky 8. The white OEM stats from AB and other vendors do not perform the same. Around a 12 degree difference actually... The thermostat is not a place to go cheap.

You'll know a lot more by looking at them up close. See what is leaking, how the wiring looks, etc.

Take a look at the ABS Pump and see if it has been rebuilt. There should be some wiring changes if they have done the option B fix, which is a good thing. If not, expect to do it at some point.

Agree on the frame comment. Some are horribly rotten - get pics everywhere on frame.

When I was shopping recently I saw the second one and thought it looked pretty solid. But for me, I didn’t want an SD as I like th moderately added luxury of the SE. the one I just got is an SE7 and has rear AC, functioning airbags in the rear and heated windshield that works.

But that might be something to consider. But staying on point, I’m with the red one and I agree with having a code reader on hand.

As reference, the P1590 code on one of the ones I looked at was a wheel speed sensor as well as the shuttle valve. Neither is a big deal, but a point of reference. On the flip side, having the CDL in there already can save some $$$.

You can get an entire HP24 transmission for the price of the just 04 CDL hardware alone.

Neither.

I'd look for something a little lower in miles and no issues.

Patience.

You don't NEED either of those trucks.

Put that money in the bank and sit on it. Add too it and get something you can enjoy when you buy it.

A front driveshaft is 15 minutes. Really? What a crock

Checking out this Disco on Friday. Emailed the owner and got this response:

I can not tell you much about the car. We bought it about 3 months ago from a dealer. It was running just fine, until one day, when I put it into drive, it would not move anymore. It also leaks a little oil. We probably added about a quart while we had it.

Read up on all the threads i could find where reverse works and none of the other gears work. Best case is the tranny is low on fluid worst is.. new tranny. For the price and the milage, i think it'll be worth a look. Does losing a qt of oil over 3 months seem excessive for Discos?
