Default New Oil Gauge Installed - Auber Instruments

Just installed a new oil gauge from Auber Instruments. First found them on eBay and did some searching. The boys down under on AULRO seem to think highly of these. So far I'm impressed with the gauge. Installed it in one of the ashtrays and used a glowshift sandwich adapter for the sensor. Gauge and sensor is about $100.00 Will be installing idiot light an buzzer to the gauge later this week.

While you don't have a buzzer, isn't the existing oil idiot light still functional? Or do you get to have a programmed alarm point at PSI of your choice? Looks good. What kind of PSI readings have you seen for your truck?

Yes you can set high and low alarms. The original idiot light still is functional. But by the time it goes off its to late.

Agreed on that. You've been driving across Texas and all on 8 PSI of oil pressure, assuming you leave her running while fueling up...

Nice install! I just got my oil pressure gauge but its the standard dial type. The digital read out is nice and makes for a very clean install...wish i had thought of that!

I purchased my Disco in December of 2010 and it had 70K on it. From what I can tell it looks like the Head Gaskets have been replaced. It now has 106K on it. Only thing I have done to the truck is the 100K service and changed the rocker cover gaskets.

I had been using the standard oil filter and Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic.
I don't have any oil pressure readings from that setup.

My current readings are with 5w40 Rotella T6 synthetic and a Mobil 1 301 filter.

The truck has alway run a synthetic or synthetic blind. I have receipt from the PO showing the dealer using Castrol 20w50 synthetic blend.

The reason I switched to Rotella was due to when I change the rocker covers the inside wasn't bad but nowhere as clean as Street Wolfs. This thread shows my rockers.

Default Looks good...

Unfortunately, with my aging eyesight I need a gauge with a big honkin' dial to keep an eye on pressure, temps, etc.!
