Default New Owner (Potentially) Questions

Hello All, I Came across this guy https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto...340207482.html, and thought that it may be the time to dive into the world of Land Rover ownership. Just looking to get your thoughts and any questions I should be asking before making this purchase.

Nice ! See if it runs and shifts. Get rid of ACE. check if it has the locking TC nipple.... have 3000$ ready for repairs. buy it.

Yeah, I'd assume the brake cylinder is $600 and then XRAD's assessment that you'll need at least $2400 more to fix the urgent stuff is probably right. Make sure it doesn't smell like coolant or blow white smoke, no ticking noises under the hood, etc.

Brake master cylinder is about $75-$150.
Replacement is a relatively simple job (I did it in an hour a parking lot once) so if your mechanical skills aren't up to doing that, owning a Disco is going to get very expensive very quickly.

haha yea from what I’ve seen it looks pretty simple. The engine compartment looks like a dream compared to some others I’ve worked in (yes I’m looking at you Toyota)
