Started out with a bunch of rust along the roof drip rail line. Then the top got beat up in a hailstorm. I decided to try my hand at body work. Ground out all the rust, had to use some JB weld to fix some metal "holes", did a bunch of bondo and sanding and it ended up pretty decent looking. However, there was no way I was going to get it good enough to repaint, so I decided to go with black truckbed liner. I have to say, I really like it. I used Raptor Liner that I ordered from Amazon (about $120 and came with the gun to spray it). 4 cans of the stuff and I only used 2 on the roof. I'm going to spray the fender flares and plastic trim below the doors also. Overall - I like the look.

 

Picked up the gutter trim pieces from Miami British - great stuff from those guys.

I was thinking of doing the same, but stopped at the hood and lower body panels. I did mine with the roll-on Rustoleum stuff, 1-gal can, and had plenty of left over. If I had to do it over again, I'd use sponge rollers, not the cloth-looking ones, because the sponge ones would probably go on more evenly.

I had the roof and hood sprayed with Rhino-liner on my '93 Ford Explorer Sport, and let me tell ya, that thing gets HOT when the sun's out shining! So be prepared for some HOT interior temps on your Disco with a black roof!
