Default New rover - got some codes

Picked up a 2000 disco today for $1100 - the one with the flashing ODO that i mentioned in a different thread will try to post pics, drives fine but has the following issues (so far)

- PO340
- P0505
- P01590

the first 2 from what I read on here can be related to the MAF, the last is the 3 amigos - which are on.

I read the codes for the 3 amigos with my ABS Amigo and this is what I got:

1.--Current Faults---->
Active Faults:
114:Shuttle Valve Electric Failure
Logged Faults:
021:Engine PWM signal bad
046:Front Left sensor output low
Front Left Sensor Bad Output
114:Shuttle Valve Electric Failure
<-END Faults
------------------------------------------------------------
* *
------------------------------------------------------------
..--Previous Faults--->
Active Faults:
022:ECU Gnd or Reference Gnd bad
Logged Faults:
None
<-END Faults
------------------------------------------------------------

What do those mean and where do I start.

The Tranny temp light is also on, are there codes stored for this, also really dumb question but where is the tranny fluid dipstick - I couldnt find it

a bunch of other small stuff, but those I will deal with later

there is a lot of rust on the rotors and vibration when I press the brake pedal so that my have something to do with the codes.

I though the ABS Amigo was supposed to shut off the lights after it deleted the codes - mine didnt ?

FYI - I am a noob, so take this accordingly. Do you feel the vibration in the pedal only or in the steering wheel? I had vibration in the pedal only and it was warped rotors. Replacing them took care of it.

I can't be of much help on the other codes, but I do know that you should not attempt to clean the MAF sensor. They are very finicky and this may or may not wreck it.

Hold on, I just looked up code P0340 and the description is Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction. See details here: OBD-II Trouble Code: P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction

I'd be impressed if you found one.

There's a plug in the forward portion of the transmission pan. You fill it through there. "Full" is a 2 mm bead of ATF flowing back out when the truck is in park at idle.

hehe thanks I just read the DIY section on this - soooo much easier to change the tranny fluid on my volvo. I would imagine the tranny on this disco has not been changed in a longed time - if at all

Not sure I follow though on the "Full" part - O have to leave the car idling in park and crawl under to see a 2mm bead ???

Thanks

fill it untill it starts running back out, make sure you run it thru the gears before sealing it back up.

Before you go and mess something up, you might want to PM me your number, I'll be glad to walk you thru what is going on with your truck.
