Nope, I just turn the heater on to see if it’s warm. Besides that, the coolant is always flowing thru the core (unless it’s clogged up).

One other point as I only just confirmed this, check your fan shroud and the hose under the expansion bottle. When I did my suspension I noticed the two lower clips were not engaged so my shroud was not really sealed to the rad, sorted that out, now I am running 5 degrees cooler.

I know it does not make much sense but it may have been delaying lock up of the fan clutch, it is possible the hose to the expansion tank was kinked as well. I am getting 183 at around 30 + miles per hour, and have seen as low as 176 for a about a minute as the clutch really kicks in after sitting a stop sign then getting up to 50 mph quickly

I was running a solid 188 before
