Default New Tires

So I got my disco II in April, and I am going to be gettting new tires soon, and I want to get a good all terrain tire that is great in snow. I dont want to change the rims, I have the stock 18 inch ones. Which I have found four tires so far in stock sizes, General Grabber AT2, Nitto Terra Grappler, Pirelli Scorpion ATR, and the Toyo Open Country All Terrain. I am really liking the General Grappers, because their reviews claim a good life and good in the snow. Which I know that the pirellis did great in the snow, had them on my old truck, but they kill gas mileage. When the others have reviews of short life and not too good in the snow. So I was wondering if anyone has experience with these tires, how much do they affect the gas mileage, how do they run in snow, and what I should expect in life expectancy? Also how big can I go before I get rubbing on a none lifted 2003 disco II SE7?

I have the General Grabber A/T2 and I love them. Very quiet for an A/T tire, great off road, smooth on road, looks aggressive, and preforms aggessive. I would buy them again, and like you I have the 18inch wheels. If you have any questions about the Grabbers let me know.

I put the Toyo Open countries on my Disco 2. Love them. In fact, it ended up snowing while I was putting them on, and they performed like a champ getting home... over hill and under dale...

In Washington, they are generally a Les Schwab tire, so you have to keep a close eye on what they are doing.... you have to tell them not to use the air gun on your wheels, don't ding the rims, etc.... definitely the JV team....

But the tires, great.

if you're going to lift soon, can you wait on the tires?
