I'm in the market to buy a disco II but when I went to look at my first one today I noticed that with it running I can see coolant circulating in the overflow tank. Is this normal? from what i've read that the disco's cooling system is a little different. The overflow tank cap is the radiator cap so to speak. thanks for the help.

Plenty of vehicles these days have the coolant container cap also serve as the radiator cap, even my old 93 Mercedes has that set up (and it was an expensive car when new). So that is not an unheard of or cheap feature. Make your search for a good deal on a Rover an educated inquiry, do look up things on our tech section, and if possible have a pre-purchase inspection. Discovery vehicles are very capable, but demand a certain level of service to return reliable performance. They were expensive vehicles, many were leased to owners who were moving up the ladder, before economic downturns. It is a common complaint that previous owner's skipped maintenance of lots of little things. If all you expect to do is change the oil and put tires on once in a while you will not be happy. If you enjoy the challenge of keeping a fine piece of machinery in top condition, you will be rewarded. A very good deal on a Rover may be too good to be true. Need more than an around the block test drive. www.statewidelist.com is a site that searches all of craigslist for one state, sorts the output by city, you specify "rover" and price range. Great for scanning what's out there nearby.
