I've always wanted a disco and finally found one i like. Its a 96 SE with 142k on it. Body is in fair shape. no dents but a few scratches. has a few small cosmetic problems but nothing major. leaking a weeeeeee bit of oil but i dont think its anything to be concerned with. Asking price is $2950. He has all the matience records and it seems to have been well taken care of but here's the deal...
i've heard so many bad things about discos that im afraid to buy it(an easy 1:10 ratio-good:bad).i can do most maintence myself but i dont always have the time. are these machines an aquired taste?

any help is appreciated.

I got my 97 for $2K.

Oil leaks happen in these things. Check to see if it is the head gaskets. They are a weak point on these trucks. You will need to find the time to do the maintenance. They really need it. If you neglect her, she will neglect you.

Parts are not very easily accessed. A lot of the parts you will have to order. There are a lot of aftermartket places on the web with reasonable prices. So you know, gas mileage is bad. Not much you can do about it. Look for 13 to 15 MPG.

I would offer 2K for it, see what he says. Gas prices arerising, so prices are getting better. Usually people get rid of these because something is wrong, so look it over closely. Good Luck!
