Default Newbie Question: A/C circulation problem, Window, and coolant leak

Greetings, first time Disco owner here! purchased a 2001 Disco SE from a co-worker with 78k miles. Our family absolutely love the car!..however, experiencing a few problems so hoping to get some ideas that I wasn't able to resolve by searching these wonderful forums.
1) The AC is not re-circulating the air within the car, the icon shows the re-circulation is on, the AC is blowing fine, but I can smell everything from the outside, car fumes, local garbage dump etc. Any ideas what that can be?
2) Front passenger window stuck in down position. I researched here and was able to remove the panel. It seems that the motor is working ok ( I think, I can hear it) also the scissor mechanism seems to be ok, no broken wheel etc. How can I further test it to find the problem? It went down the other day, just never could go back up.
3) Have coolant leaks all over garage floor, Mechanic put in a new radiator for $900 (yikes) and it still leaks. What are some common places I can look for the source of these leakes
4) Thanks for reading!! any input will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Dale

Very generic info on the coolant loss. Either buy an adapter and rent a pressure tester from the auto parts store...OR give better description where the coolant is coming from, I.E. bottom front, driver side top, passenger side near radiator and so on. There are a dozen hoses, water pump gasket, def check on driver side under throttle body- you may see coolant on top of the vave cover there.

Also go to "Sticky Major Service" on the D2 home page where you posted this from and click on "download Rave" on DiscoMikes signature. That would be the service manual and may aid in your repairs

This might help. It's a "self diagnostic" for A/C. Not sure how or what it does.
Good luck

Welcome to the club. The only observation I can offer is a about the window. My Rear driver side window would go down from the front console but not up from that switch. Worked okay on door. I replaced the switch in the front console with one I got used from Paul Grant who parts out Rovers. Works like a charm now. Your problem may be that simple.

Default Thanks guys, additional observations......

Thank you all for taking the time to respond:
Chubbs878: Thanks!! I'll clean it up and try and specifically locate the leak better, I don't have much engine knowlege so referencing parts is difficult ;-)
LandyMatt: Thanks!!, I'll try the AC diagnostics, I see on Youtube also a reference to the error codes if I get any. Also, I found a thread last night about a possible cause, there
is a filter under the windscreen in the engine bay, apparently this may have deteroriated causing outside air to get in, i'll check it out!
Matt3502: Thanks!! although when I press the console button up, I can hear the motor, so wouldn't that mean it can't be the switch??
Cheers all and thanks again!!

Hard to tell, with mine I "thought" I could hear the motor, but it still would not work. For $10 for a used switch it can't hurt to try.

The filter under the windshield doesn't do much except for keeping the big pieces out of the AC system. You have a stuck flap for the AC system.

Also a good time to remove the blower fan and clean the squirrel cage and re-oil the bearings.
