Default newbie question re Disco 1

Hi all, seen a really nice series one disco, looks totally original and standard i.e. no fancy bull bars etc. This is totally original looks like it´s been garaged the alloy wheels aren´t even pitted etc. Thing is I´ve yet to take a closer look as the car´s parked in the street however, when I go to have a proper look I need to know what to look for.

Can you guy´s post some typical thing´s to look at, it´s a diesel TDI200 engine with about 90,000 miles on the clock.

Thanks up front for your help,

Richard

Default RE: newbie question re Disco 1

look very close at all of the wiring to make sure it hasnt been repaired or spliced into in any improper ways. also, take a close look at the driveline under the truck, particularly the t-case, diffs, and front hubs. make sure none of the look like they are leaking very quickly, and if you are able to chech the fluid levels in all of those components. those are the first things that gave me truoble in my disco I. as far as the motor, i dont really know what to check for on the diesels, mine has the v8, unfortunately.
