Default Newbie w/ a stupid ?

I'm so sorry for such a stupid ? but here goes..... OK, I just recently bought a 99 disc. 1 and the radio reception is terrible. I just bought an owners manual online and STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHERE THE ANTENNA IS!?!?!?!?There isn't a place for it on or around the hood that I can find. Can anyone help. Again pls excuse my ignorance. Thanks in advance!

Hi depending on what model it has, it will have either 1 or 2 amplified antenna's built into the rear side windows. High Line audio vehicles have 2. Left hand rear window has FM amp, right hand side has AM/FM. On Base and Mid line audio fitments its in the Right hand side and does AM / FM

the amplifiers are located behind the rear trim panels near the alpine windows.

Would always be worth "pulling" the headunit first to check the aerial is connected at the rear, ensure you have the radio code before you disconnect it from the power supply, if you need to do that for more access

According to the manual, the antenna amplifier is located at the back of the vehicle near the rear pillar/s. I haven't had to dig into mine, but this is a fairly common question. I looked up the location on the RAVE CD. If the antenna seems good, I'd focus my attention on these amplifiers. Someone should get to the bottom of the problem and post a "fix" hereso others can be helped. In fact, there should be a page with a list of commonDisco problems andfixes.
