Default NGK Ruthenium HX Spark Plug 95159

My '04 SE plugs were replaced about 5 years ago at 38K miles by the first owner at the dealer (NLP100320) I have 79K miles and am making my way down the proactive maintenance list since I purchased.

I was all set to do a widely liked plug (NGK Double Platinum or Iridium) and the NGK site is tempting me with the newest metal. I have a good coupon code and some rewards banked so ignoring the $$ per plug should I give them a whirl?

If you're already going with a fancy precious metal I don't see a reason not to as long as they are spec'd for the engine. NGK should have an application guide you can verify with.

I've had excellent luck with NGK V-Power nickle tipped plugs. They are my favorite so far.

When I tried iridium plugs in my old Camry, they just didn't seem to work as well as the Toyota platinum plugs, seemed to need to downshift more up slight hills. Maybe it was my mind playing tricks with me.

Ruthenium . . . I just hope NGK wouldn't put their name and reputation on something they don't trust.
