The other day while out at an off road park near me I noticed that my Diff Lock light on the instrument cluster does not illuminate when Diff Lock is selected. I have an '04 DII and I have confirmed that the Diff Lock is working. The light on the dash used to work it just recently quit.

Is there a way to test ALL idiot lights on the dash? There are several that don't test when you first turn the key on and I think DL is one of them. If a bulb is the problem I would replace it. If it is the switch tucked up on top of the transfer box I will just live with no light.

Unfortunately there is no 'bulb' that lights that up. It's an led soldered onto the instrument cluster. So only way to fix it would be to swap clusters.

You can do a light test with a hawkeye or similar to see if the light is working.

I replaced my CDL detection switch because that's what broke on mine. I would bet that is your problem. Not a hard fix.

 

I agree, the switch is probably at fault. How did you get at the switch? Did you have to pull the center console and gear stick?

 

Ya unfortunately there's no real easy way to get at it without removing the center console.
