Default no over heating on my DII :)

Take a look at my ultraguage. This is after running through town. I'm assuming the thermo is stuck open. Got a 180 to put on but at least there is no overheating https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-q...ultraguage.JPG

Yeah, running cool can be hard on your Catalytic Converter, so the new Thermostat would be good to get done. I found this out on my wife's New Beetle. Thermo was stuck, thought I'd get around to it at some point, but because it was not getting hot, I let it wait a while. Plugged up the Cat. I was able to repair the Cat, but if I wasn't, it's a $1000 part. On the Rover, it's almost 3 times that price for the pair.

I WISH!!! I'm in California where they don't use their brains. They will NOT allow you to install Aftermarket Cats on many cars here. No reasons why, just because they can say so. Even if the Cat has been proven to operate just as OEM, they won't allow it. It HAS to be Dealer Factory Part.

Stupidity at it's best.

I honestly don't mind having them in, especially since the vehicles have been tuned to them, but when they go out, I should be able to have choices where I buy a replacement.

California does not allow freedom of choice, in MANY ways. Unless you are gay, then choice is encouraged, not that I care, mind you, I just don't like the State making decisions for ME on things that matter to ME and save ME money.

Yeah, I knew I needed to change it, just funny. Everybody else is trying to cool down their Rovers and I am trying to warm up mine.

Well, new 180 in. Still have my exhaust leak, yes I know it may be a head gasket. Not driving it far or much right now till I can dig into it again. However, at least my temps are staying right at 194-195 when driving it with nothing over 199 at idle at the stop lights.
