Yeah...2004 HSE's for 10k with 60k miles is very enticing, but this was meant to be a part time winter/offroad car.

2002's seem pricey as well...

So with 115K you think the engine might be okay?

If you go to www.atlanticbritish.com they have tech tips, including how to switch your HVAC from "C" to"F".

Personally, I would not buy a '03. Bottom line, I wouldnt do it. I cannot afford to spend $7,000 on a new engine if it were to go bad.
Dont just buy the first Disco that you drive. Look at many, it took me 9 months of research and test driving to find the right trk. I bought a '97 with 152kand wouldnt trade it for the world. It now has 174k.
With these trks requireing premium gas and gas well over $4 per gallon you have a LOT of wiggle room in negotiating the price.
If they are asking $6500 I would low ball them with $5,000 and not go over $5,500.
Do your reseach, www.nada.com, www.kbb.com, www.edmunds.com, www.cars.com,www.autotrader.com. Compare pricing, what is it actually worth? Low ball them and dont be afraid to walk away. Remind them that it REQUIRES premium gas. Ask them how bad they want to sell it. How long has it been sitting on the lot? The longer the better.
You can get these cheap right now.

Thanks a ton for all the help. As I'm Canadian, I'd be buying this car sight unseen over the internet, so I'll keep looking around.

I'm kind of in love with the 2003 headlights...is it possible to retrofit?

Yes it is, there is a retro fit headlight kit for DII's. Just a word of caution, a guy on here bought his DII on e-bay motors and after he got it home and went to have it tested he failed. Come to find out the seller removed the light bulbs from the warning lamps. He has since dumped a TON of money into the trk and is ready to drive it off a cliff. e-bay wont do anything and the seller has the money so they dont care either.
I do think that 90% of the sellers are honest, but...buy beware.

Yeah I'd only get a car from a dealer with 100% feedback.

Wheres the headlight kit bought from? Any comments on that 2000 i posted?

From what I understand this will have slightly better fuel consumption. Still reliable? Good offroad? Hill button? :P

That 2000 looks pretty good. My only consern would be that the tires dont match and I would want to know why.
All DII's have Hill Descent Control and Traction Control. Do a search on this forum for the "three amigos".
Do a search on here for the headlight conversion too. You can buy the kit off of e-bay but there is somebody scamming people. A guy on here will give you the instructions for free. I forget his screen name though.

So what do you think..at 115K the pump should have been replaced or a non-issue by now?

I would try to get service record. When I look any Rover to buy I get the book out of the glove boxand see where it was serviced, then I call the dealer and inquire about the service record. Most Rover dealers will let you know about service performed.
