Default not wanting to start 97 disco

hi first off its a 97 disco with 100000 miles first time was when i went thru a car wash died as soon as water started spraying let it dri out for about 2 hours and tried to start and would not fire it turns over like it is trying to start but nothing had it towed on a sat mech looked at it on monday it started right up while it was there i had him do the oil filter and tranny fluid and filter since i just bought it have a long trip commig up and wife just called and said it would not start asked if she had ran thru any water or anything she said no started to go get her and she called back and said it started any ideas dont really want to get stranded on i 95 for christmas

Did you get water under the hood near the passenger side fire wall, if you you have a wet ECU and it will need to be removed and dried out completely.

i probably did the first time but this is two weeks later would it still be the same thing

The ECU, and also the fuse box in the cab are problem areas. If they get wet, they can be fine, and then because of temp changes, the water can migrate around the boards and cause another fault. Are all of you accessories working properly? Rear fog lights, wipers, rear heater?

There is also a little button on the passenger side of the firewall. Push it to make sure it is seated properly...

Had a similar thing happen to my 97 Disco about a month ago. After I pressure washed my motor. Water ran into the alarm. There was no water on the floor board, but the wiring harness and alarm where wet. Removed alarm from my truck and dried with a hair drier (was thinking acylene tirch and rosebud) and started no problem after reinstalling the alarm.
