I used to be an owner of a Toyota Celica , and as Mike recommends read my owners manual thoroughly .Toyota advice while operating vehicle to avoid keeping steering wheel at maximum left or right for more than few seconds as it could damage power steering pump. I had Celica for few years and never had a problem. When I sold car to young guy he after wards come and visit me with leaking steering pump.I showed him owners manual warning and he just made green face and left. All steering pumps work on same principal.

OK... these aren't toyota celicas. Do you have relevant personal experience with a Land Rover PAS Pump? Have you had one apart to see how they are constructed? Have you repaired one? Screw the drivers manual, have you read what the shop manual has to say about the steering in a DII?

I found a rebuilt 2002 D2 PAS pump on Ebay for $270 with warranty and free shipping!
I'll send in the old one to get my core fee back. The company is called CAR STEERING PARTS. I'll Have it back in this weekend. Thanks for the input.

Not bad but I think they are the same $200 (after $50 core fee) at AZ and Napa with a warranty.

Oh, for crying out loud guys! We DII owners might have a few more problems than you DI guys, but we have more potential lights on the instrument cluster, and we can tie stuff to our door handles if we wanted to!

Hands-down best price out there on a shiny new pump:

The one I got from them is a 2008 manufacture. Hopefully they improved the seal on it since they made the 2003 I swapped out.
