timely topic... Just walked out yesterday afternoon to a huge puddle under my 2002 Td5. Popped the hood, and sure enough the pas reservoir is empty.. no issues with drivability or steering right up to when i parked it, its just like it gave up the ghost sometime in the middle of the night.

as far as I could tell, the hoses etc look brand new and from the top I don't see any leakage that looks like it could be from the tank or hoses.

I then refilled the reservoir and started the engine and turned the wheels side to side, and didn't see any more leakage from below, at least not the kind of spewing i would expect to see if it completely emptied itself overnight.

Can anyone think of a reason why it would just empty itself like that overnight without any warning, then not continue to spew when refilled? I'll have to check the hose connections to the unit I suppose.

I am a little confused also - is the pump a separate unit from the steering box? I have checked out a few of these links and some show a great huge box with a linkage to the wheel, and others (above) just show a smaller pump unit.
