jmrivera, If it's the oil pump that is not aligned correctly on the front cover then I can see it solving the problem but if the internal workings of the motor itself are not correct then I can see a misfit problem... I guess what we need to know now is if it's motor side or front cover that was machined wrong...???

jmrivera, I did what you said and now have all of the service records for the vehicle and no issues with the oil pump...thanks for the advice

Ok, I just talked to a guy at atlantic-british and he claims that there is a new front cover that comes with the oil pump on it. This is supposed to take care of the issue... DISCO MIKE, is this what I need to do in order to keep my 03 engine from blowing apart due to the oil pump failure...???
Jast I heard there was no fix, I would get in touch with Rover and see what they know.

thanks, from what I have learned today, it's not a real common thing... I can only hope for the best...
